disco damage
I finally got back some more images from a shoot I styled for DJ duo Disco Damage and photographed by Thomas Hein - the rest of the images can be seen HERE. The shot below features a star patterned leather jacket by Korean label Human Potential and a plastic 'Temple Talisman' oversized necklace by FinchittidaFinch. I'm doing another shoot with them tomorrow with a 'forbidden fruit' theme - can't wait to see how that turns out!

chadchad of the day 6.7
patterned trench / Human Potential
yellow shirt / Issey Miyake
teal trousers / Topman
blue clutch / Louis Vuitton
orange socks / UNIQLO
maroon shoes / Zara
brown sunglasses / Cutler and Gross
I went hella bright for London Fashion Week day 4 as it was a blue skies kinda afternoon and I wanted to put myself in a spring sort of mood. Korean label Human Potential sent me this bold trench coat a few months ago as a gift and fashion week was the first time the weather felt right to wear it. The neutral almost burnt looking pattern has pops of aqua and purple and I wanted to bring those colors out by color blocking the rest of my outfit - yellow shirt, aqua trousers, blue clutch, orange socks, maroon shoes. It's a lot but I'm not afraid to experiment with color.
Below is another one of the daily videos I made for 1883 Magazine's Fashion Insider during the week. This time we focused on the confidence and craziness that makes up London's street fashion scene, which is louder and prouder than most other cities in the world.

burger kim of the day 1.5
jacket / Kokon to Zai
sweater / no brand
fur hat / Human Potential
drop crotch shorts / ASOS
leggings / Boy London
boots / Dr. Martens
boot chains / vintage
Burger and I went down to China town yesterday to partake in the Lunar New Years festivities (not sure why they were a week late...) and gorge ourselves in all the delicious street foods. It was a crisp, winter day so with a bit of layering like this fur 'Invader' hat given to us from Korean brand Human Potential aka HUPOT, it was perfect for a stroll outside.
I love the shininess and multipurpose zips of Burger's KTZ jacket, with its fun almost polka-dot like printed lining. He wore it over an oversized jumper that he bought in Seoul with very cool rope detailing surrounding a Versace-esqe circle of Greek patterns in the center. The layering of the boots, chains, socks, leggings & shorts add a very playfully haphazard feel to his outfit.

chadchad of the day 6.1
black shirt with pompoms / Burger & Fries
grey trousers / Sparks
black fur muffler / Human Potential
acid wash back pack / vintage
black shoes / Sanuk
studded fingerless gloves / Burger & Fries
Yesterday morning Burger and I decided to hit up the Sunday Up Market along Brick Lane for brunch. It's full of boutique clothing and accessories sellers, both vintage and handmade, along with a dozen or so super delicious ethnic food stalls including Ethiopian, Greek, Mexican and Indian food. I opted for some savory okonomiyaki from one of the Japanese stalls.
I didn't even need a jacket the weather was so mild. So I just layered this American Apparel sweatshirt that I reformed by adding black pompoms along the sleeves with my new faux fur muffler, another thoughtful gift from Korean label Human Potential.
I have a similar reformed sweater from American Apparel for sale on our Burger & Fries ASOS Marketplace boutique, this one with polka dots and white pompoms. Truly one of a kind!

chadchad of the day 5.8
grey & black faux fur sweater / Human Potential
black shirt / tailor made from Vietnam
black jeans / Topman
black boots / Aldo
studded black gloves / handmade
Another HUGE thanks to Rebekah and the team at Human Potential in Korea for sending over this Invader Gorilla sweater to me. It's the softest, warmest thing I own and is perfect for walking around London in the evenings doing a little Christmas browsing. I wore it to a photo shoot for 1883 Magazine at a chilly studio a few weeks ago and the other assistant Lindsay couldn't keep her hands off me, she said I was like a giant teddy bear. If you want to pick one up and you aren't in Korea, check out HUPOT's selection on Notjustalabel.com.
These are a pair of studded skeleton like gloves that I made myself. I sold many a pair in South Korean at the Bling/Platoon Night Flea Market that I used to attend every month. I'm waiting for some orders to come in but soon I'll start selling them on our Burger & Fries boutique as well. Until then, check out a couple of the simpler pairs that I made below:
Fingerless gloves with square knuckle studs / Burger & Fries
Studded XX gloves / Burger & Fries

chadchad of the day 5.6
nordic print shorts / Custard Yellow
black leggings / American Apparel
leather fanny pack / vintage
leather leopard print hat / OBEY
Huge HUGE Thanks to Rebecca (YK) Kim, the designer of Korean brand Human Potential, for sending me this super cool 2-stars biker jacket last week. I was so psyched to open the surprise package and find this along with a few other goodies that I'll be featuring in outfits of the day in the near future.
I shot this photo today at the cover shoot for 1883 Magazine which we shot on location in the most amazing apartment in Earl's Court. The shoot had a very vintage Hollywood feel with a very pretty (and top secret!) actress wearing everything from Tom Ford to Margiela to Valentino. The decor was very Egyptian and this room featured block printed wallpaper that I fell in love with. It sort of clashes with the jacket but I just had to show it. I'll try to post a few backstage images once the issue comes out the end of January.
The jacket is from HUPOT's spring/summer 2011 collection (I've blogged before about the leaf print monkey pants worn in the picture above HERE) and is a favorite among many K-pop stars in Seoul (see below). I'm rocking the fanny pack which I use as my styling kit on photo shoots along with Burger's very cool leather hat with silver leopard print brim.

want 0.9: human potential
How cool is this grey & black fur sweater named the 'Invader Gorilla Sweater' by Korean brand Human Potential? I would be so warm and fuzzy all winter long, especially if I had the matching fur hat. HUPOT, as the brand is commonly known in Seoul, was created by Korean designers Dowon Kim & YK Rebekah Kim and is a staple among streetwear fans in Korea not to mention a favorite of K-pop girl group 2NE1. Take a look at some of my favorite looks from their FW11 collection entitled Alien Puppeteers.

filming with 'Style Magazine' with OnStyle TV.
www.onstylei.com
Yesterday my friends Cory, David, Coco & I has a great day filming an episode of 'Style Magazine' for OnStyle TV. We started the day at one of my favorite shops along Garosugil / 가로수길 in Sinsa called 'Flow'. We had a chance to walk around the recently renovated store which has now expanded into both the 2nd floor and the basement, and check out the new products.
I was immediately attracted to these bold leaf print hammer pants by Human Potential, a favorite Korean brand of mine whose clothing is regularly worn by K-pop band 2NE1 & this bad ass silver fingernail belt by Cheap Monday which I wore as a necklace when we had a little 'fashion challenge'. I definitely want to go back and pick up both of them.
We hit up a smaller market shop on Saerosugil / 새로수길 called 보물찾기 which means something like 'Treasure Hunter', then drove out to the OnStyle studio in the CJ E&M Building. Here we met Korean supermodel & host of Style Magazine Han Hye Jin / 한혜진 and we discussed what we were doing in Korea, what we think of Korean fashion & designers, etc. I got a chance to display some of the clothing I have reformed as well as the accessories I have made. In the photo you can see her wearing a necklace I made out of little plastic dolls, which goes quite well with the striped red dress & KTZ (Kokon to Zai) jacket she is wearing.
Here I am with two of the producers, So Young & Jin. The third producer Jihee, who had originally contacted me about the shoot was too shy to take her photo. They were all so kind to us and took us out at the end of the day for an amazing Korean meal of fried fish / 고등어 구이 & beef soup / 갈비탕.
For any of you living in Korea, 'Style Magazine' airs every Thursday at 11pm. Watch our episode next week on March 10th!
