Semipermanent
I'm slowly catching up with my friends Eric & Tiffany's Seoul based TV series 'Semipermanent', and just had to share two more episodes. The episode above titled 'State of the Art' meets up with some more Seoul kids I know including the talented Jamie Bruno who paints murals on abandoned or soon to be torn down homes in the city, as well as Udo Lee, a curator at Platoon Kunsthalle - one of my favorite old haunts in Seoul. Watching the episode really made me miss all the events that went on at Platoon from concerts to gallery openings and especially the Night Flea Market where I used to make bank every month selling vintage & reformed clothes!
Episode 6 'All Dressed Up' was especially bittersweet to watch as it focused on Seoul's fashion scene. My boy James Lee McGuown spoke to Eric & Tiff behind the scenes at Seoul Fashion Week while he was getting ready for the Kimseoryong Homme show and there were so many familiar faces popping up from designers I used to know and work with to dressers I recognized and models like Won Joong Kim or Jin Wook Yoon that I used to walk in shows with. Also very cool to see Dongdaemun fashion market again - I used to spend hours there searching through all the trimmings and fabrics and whatnot. While I might not live there again, I WILL GO BACK ONE DAY! I can't not - it's my home away from home!
Seoul - I miss you!

Semipermanent: The Expat Life
Yay! I'm so glad to see my friends Tiffany & Eric & Hassan doing so well in Seoul. Tiff & Eric used to live in the apartment right next door to me (I could literally reach over my balcony and knock on their window lol). I remember them talking about a TV project they were working on and being excited by the sounds of it - and now to see it come to fruition is so awesome. Love how beautifully the film is shot and how sincere the storytelling is, reminding me so much of what I miss about being an expat in Korea. Well done guys - can't wait to see the next episode!

Glen Check '84'
LOVE LOVE this newly released video by Glen Check from Korea for his song '84'. I want to move into this triangle, unicorn galaxy land and hear vintage beats all day long. Also the blonde in the video is my 친안 친구 (aka. good friend) Cory who looks so badass, especially with diamond lights shining out of her eyes. Love it, share it and make it go viral y'all!

cracker your drama
Cracker Your Wardrobe, a street style magazine based in Seoul, South Korea has recently launched a web drama called (you guessed it) Cracker Your Drama, which will be released over the next 10 months. In episode 3: Metamorphosis my friend Takahito Irie, a Japanese artist that I met in Seoul while he was taking part in a residency at Platoon Kunsthalle, makes an appearance. You can also see a giant photo of my face being carried around and yelled at by the protagonist. I'm painted like a 'Human Machine' which is the title of a recent collection of work by Takahito.

want 0.9: human potential
How cool is this grey & black fur sweater named the 'Invader Gorilla Sweater' by Korean brand Human Potential? I would be so warm and fuzzy all winter long, especially if I had the matching fur hat. HUPOT, as the brand is commonly known in Seoul, was created by Korean designers Dowon Kim & YK Rebekah Kim and is a staple among streetwear fans in Korea not to mention a favorite of K-pop girl group 2NE1. Take a look at some of my favorite looks from their FW11 collection entitled Alien Puppeteers.

ha:sang;beg after party @ woobar
If there's one thing designer Ha:Sang;Beg knows how to do, it's how to throw a party. That and put on an entertaining show, this years being no exception. Held at Woo Bar at the W Hotel, his FW 2011/12 collection was once again comprised of mostly knitwear & skinny jeans in bold, citrus color blocking stripes with models rocking black headbands & spiky futuresexlove-do's. The ladies wore above the elbow S&M style rubber gloves while the guys rocked patent leather riding boots with long black horse hair zippers straight out of my dreams.
