Down the Rabbit Hole / Little Burgundy SS14
photography / Saty + Pratha
fashion / Chad Burton
hair & makeup / Cody @ P1M
models / Julia @ Plutino Group & Alex @ Elmer Olson
I'm so happy this weird and quirky story for the Little Burgundy's SS14 Illusions issue is out for the world to see! It was such a fun and chill day collaborating with Françoise & Sacha from Team LIL' BURG and of course a pleasure as always making good shit happen in Toronto with Saty + Pratha - I literally don't know what I would do without them in this city!
Be sure to pick up a copy of The Illusion Issue for free at your nearest Little Burgundy shop!

An Island of Two / SVA Magazine
photography / Saty + Pratha
fashion / Chad Burton
hair & makeup / Sheri Stroh
models / Robbie & Kelsey @ Elite Toronto
This was the first editorial I had a chance to work on since moving back to Canada. Yes I live in Canada now - boooooo! Not the I hate my home country, but I do miss the fashion scene of London or Seoul, like really really hard. Gah - stupid visas, they are the bane of my existence!
One good thing about being in Toronto however is that my fave photographer duo Saty + Pratha are living here now as well. I met them on a few shoots for 1883 Magazine back in London and we also collaborated together on a few RCA graduate collection lookbooks a while back. They make amazing shit happen and this shoot for SVA Magazine is no exception.
We took a weekend trip out to the Georgian Bay on the Bruce Peninsula for this story, doing the shoot entirely in the infamous setting of the Grotto, an area in a of rocks and cliffs and blue blue water in a national park near Tobermory. The shoot features a few local labels like Lucian Matis, Pink Tartan and Untitled & Co along with some great samples from Toronto shops such as Robber, Mama Loves You Vintage and Gravity Pope.

mood 0.1
I wanted to share some of the inspiration and mood boards behind a few of my recent shoots. The above is for my 'Pony Boy' editorial shot by Sarah Brimley for issue 6 of 1883 Magazine which was just released in newsstands on Friday. Obviously a lot of leather and pony skin, lots of black and white shots but mixed with color. A bit film noir meets S&M.
Below is my mood board for the 'New Hackney Girl' editorial I shot for 1883 Digital with Tomas Hein. The initial idea for the clothes was a bit more pastel inspired, with eccentric layering and ethnic patterns. Tomas talked me out of going too pastel which I'm happy about and I was thrilled to see the quirky cut and paste layering he ended up doing with the photos. Both shoots I'm really proud of!

This is my most recent editorial, shot with Tomas Hein for 1883 Digital. had a lot of fun shooting it in the super HUGE Big Sky Studios along with an old friend from Seoul, Urim, who did the lovely makeup. Such a good team all around! I hope you like it :)

palm trees & hotties
Here's a sexy, sun-soaked & oiled-up mood board I created for an editorial the 1883 Magazine team shot when they went out to Los Angeles last month. I haven't seen any of the images yet from the shoot, but I'm guessing it's going to be dope!

kingdom comedown: behind the scenes
I recently wrote a blogpost for 1883 Magazine featuring some behind the scenes photos I took on the day we photographed a menswear editorial entitled Kingdom Comedown for issue 4. Styled by Filippo Giuliani and photographed by Hayley Louisa Brown, the editorial features a lot of pattern and some very bold set design by Elise Colledge from Darling and Edge.

want 1.1: katie eary
Last week I assisted on a menswear shoot for 1883 Magazine and one of the stand out designers we pulled from was Katie Eary (Exposure PR), a London based designer who makes some really effing cool menswear pieces. This hat was one of the pieces we pulled along with some of her animal print tops and thick, almost plastic trousers from her SS12 collection which she showed this season at the Somerset House back in September.
I love the tan almost untreated looking leather of the cap with the huge leather stitches, which she also used in jacket in her collection. Orange was a huge color in the show as was shiny gold which was featured on the back of a few of those long & thick trousers I mentioned. The bald eagle t-shirt screams cool and the silk growling mirrored cheetah top (another want!) looks smart with the sky blue trousers. Take a look at the video for her this collection by Vicky Lawton for DAZED Digital.
