Boys Town for JON Magazine
This is my latest editorial work featured in the December 2013 issue of JON Magazine, a UK based menswear publication. I shot this with my friends Saty + Pratha back in November right before it started to get really frigid here in Toronto. Taras @ Elite agency was our model for the day and Olivia Colacci @ Plutino did the hair/makeup.
Originally titled "Drifter", S+P had come up with a story about a lone hitman or 'anti-hero' type of leading man - an elusive, well dressed, macho kind of bad boy. We started out the day in an industrial area of Toronto, then after a bit of car trouble, made our way back to their studio for some indoor shots as well.
The finished story features only black and white in the printed issue, but I was in love with the pops of bright red and royal blue featured throughout in both the clothing and the locations so I have included some unpublished images as well.
Special thanks to a few local brands such as Thomas Balint and Christopher Bates for lending clothing as well as shops such as Gravity Pope, Over The Rainbow and Mama Loves You Vintage.

An Island of Two / SVA Magazine
photography / Saty + Pratha
fashion / Chad Burton
hair & makeup / Sheri Stroh
models / Robbie & Kelsey @ Elite Toronto
This was the first editorial I had a chance to work on since moving back to Canada. Yes I live in Canada now - boooooo! Not the I hate my home country, but I do miss the fashion scene of London or Seoul, like really really hard. Gah - stupid visas, they are the bane of my existence!
One good thing about being in Toronto however is that my fave photographer duo Saty + Pratha are living here now as well. I met them on a few shoots for 1883 Magazine back in London and we also collaborated together on a few RCA graduate collection lookbooks a while back. They make amazing shit happen and this shoot for SVA Magazine is no exception.
We took a weekend trip out to the Georgian Bay on the Bruce Peninsula for this story, doing the shoot entirely in the infamous setting of the Grotto, an area in a of rocks and cliffs and blue blue water in a national park near Tobermory. The shoot features a few local labels like Lucian Matis, Pink Tartan and Untitled & Co along with some great samples from Toronto shops such as Robber, Mama Loves You Vintage and Gravity Pope.
