chadchad of the day 5.7
black blazer with gold zippers / Topman
sparkly gold shirt / vintage
wolf necklace / Topman
Last night was the Christmas party for the staff at 1883 Magazine which was held at the W Hotel. I decided to get in the festive spirit by taking some inspiration from Prada's FW11 menswear collection and rocking the glitter look. I found this top one day at Oxfam for like 5 quid (a very flashy woman must have just died and donated all her belongings to charity as there was an entire rack of loud, glittery and gold pieces!) and swapped the original tacky gold buttons for simple black ones. I wore it with a quirky black blazer from Topman, a hand-me-down from my new roommate, that has great gold zippers along the edge of the collar. The finishing touch was a wolf neck chain that I found in Burger's tower of accessories.

want 1.2: ivan curia nunes
I've been researching some fresh, young designers for an upcoming menswear shoot that I'm assisting on for 1883 Magazine and I came upon recent Central Saint Martins graduate Ivan Curia Nunes. I was interested in & excited by a lot of the other graduates runway debuts but in the end Nunes mainly linen collection was the stand out star and I WANT it all. The muted color palette and exaggerated silhouettes were slightly reminiscent of some of my favorite young Korean menswear designers like Groundwave, Alani and Irony Porn(o). And just how effortlessly cool are those sunglasses?

burger kim of the day 1.2
trench coat / Bitching and Junk Food
long patterned shirt / Marjan Pejoski
gold keyhole necklace / Burger & Fries
black denim / Cheap Monday
black boots / Dr. Martens
Another very cool look from Burger today in his trench coat from bitchingandjunkfood.com which has a very large plaid hood and some nice gold stud detailing on the reverse. The super long shirt was designed by Marjan Pejoski who created Bjork's infamous 'Swan Dress' and who is one half of the creative team behind Kokon to Zai aka KTZ. The necklace is one of my designs using a vintage keyhole plate that I found in the Waterlooplein antiques market in Amsterdam.

want 1.1: katie eary
Last week I assisted on a menswear shoot for 1883 Magazine and one of the stand out designers we pulled from was Katie Eary (Exposure PR), a London based designer who makes some really effing cool menswear pieces. This hat was one of the pieces we pulled along with some of her animal print tops and thick, almost plastic trousers from her SS12 collection which she showed this season at the Somerset House back in September.
I love the tan almost untreated looking leather of the cap with the huge leather stitches, which she also used in jacket in her collection. Orange was a huge color in the show as was shiny gold which was featured on the back of a few of those long & thick trousers I mentioned. The bald eagle t-shirt screams cool and the silk growling mirrored cheetah top (another want!) looks smart with the sky blue trousers. Take a look at the video for her this collection by Vicky Lawton for DAZED Digital.

chadchad of the day 5.6
nordic print shorts / Custard Yellow
black leggings / American Apparel
leather fanny pack / vintage
leather leopard print hat / OBEY
Huge HUGE Thanks to Rebecca (YK) Kim, the designer of Korean brand Human Potential, for sending me this super cool 2-stars biker jacket last week. I was so psyched to open the surprise package and find this along with a few other goodies that I'll be featuring in outfits of the day in the near future.
I shot this photo today at the cover shoot for 1883 Magazine which we shot on location in the most amazing apartment in Earl's Court. The shoot had a very vintage Hollywood feel with a very pretty (and top secret!) actress wearing everything from Tom Ford to Margiela to Valentino. The decor was very Egyptian and this room featured block printed wallpaper that I fell in love with. It sort of clashes with the jacket but I just had to show it. I'll try to post a few backstage images once the issue comes out the end of January.
The jacket is from HUPOT's spring/summer 2011 collection (I've blogged before about the leaf print monkey pants worn in the picture above HERE) and is a favorite among many K-pop stars in Seoul (see below). I'm rocking the fanny pack which I use as my styling kit on photo shoots along with Burger's very cool leather hat with silver leopard print brim.
