FATHERDUCK London SS14
FATHERDUCK LONDON SS14
photography / Jake Rosenberg
fashion / Chad Burton
I had the opportunity to work once more with t-shirt brand FATHERDUCK London to style the lookbook for their SS14 capsule collection. Again Jake Rosenberg of the Coveteur was on board as photographer. This time around the brand wanted a more athletic mood to the lookbook so I paired the duck inspired tee's with mesh track pants and shorts and threw in some gear like elbow pads, whistles and mouth guards to reference sportswear. Another fun shoot and it sounds like this collection will be available through Topman so keep your eyes peeled.

colette vermeulen RCA MA 2012
A few months ago Canadian photography duo Saty + Pratha asked me to style lookbooks they were shooting for a few Royal College of Art MA graduates, which I happily did as I love S+P's work and definitely wanted to add some of their shots to my portfolio - plus they are just great kids entirely. I was psyched that Colette Vermeulen was one of the graduates I was going to be working with - her collection was so colorful and full of pattern and energy. You can see from her runway looks below that we played around with her designs a bit, and rather than mismatch all the different fabrics and colors, we went for mostly head to toe one pattern/color looks - and I'm so happy with the outcome!

hiroaki kanai lookbook
I shot this lookbook for RCA graduate Hiroaki Kanai a few weeks back, photographed by my friend Masayo Matsuda. It's been awhile since I was in front of the camera rather than on the sidelines doing the styling and it was fun to get back into it. I loved the silhouettes of Hiroaki's outfits with the highwaisted trousers and cropped, cinched jackets. Fun leather gloves and the bold magenta and blue were such rad outfits.

Liza Novikova FW12
Here are a few selections from a lookbook I styled for RCA graduate Liza Novikova. We shot them in east London on a semi-sunny day with photographer Tomas Hein, but for the life of me I can't remember the models name. Oops :) The 'Art Dècolletage' collar above with the compass is by Della Reed @ Guts for Garters.

want 2.0
I recently got my hands on Korean designer Juyoung Lee's lookbook for Ressurection FW12 and there are definitely a lot of looks on my WANT list. The olive green jacket above with the long, black fur is for sure a favorite and I love how all the looks are warmly styled with turtleneck tops. Her sunglasses range is a favorite of mine and she is well known for her leather detailing and use of skirts for men.
There is regularly a sort of Mad Hatter meets Jedi knight rock star mood to her collections with this seasons being no exception. Another favorite are the chevron striped pants in burgundy and brown colors at the bottom of this post. Someone in London has got to start stocking this stuff!

want 1.7
I came across the KTZ FW12 lookbook today and loved how out there it was. Photographed by the talented & recently blue haired ALIS PELLESCHI (definitely worth checking out her very pink portfolio of work HERE) the looks are head to toe screaming in bold prints and strong silhouettes. Each article of clothing is loud and proud and have so many layers its hard to pinpoint just one piece that you would like to own.
My personal favorite look and the one that I would absolutely WANT to rock is the above left photo - it's a head turning look like the rest but is quiet enough to let you appreciate the details without overwhelming the eyes. I'm super fond of the accessories in the lookbook including the quirky berets, the subtle leather clutch, the patterned gloves, the massive gold necklaces and especially the black platform shoes with gold detailing. The skirts in the collection are a mix of drag and Scottish kilt and I think are most successful when worn over a matching plaid pair of trousers (or are those just long socks??) like the white & red looks below. Overall it's a very fashion forward and very Kokon to Zai collection.

beyond closet ss12 lookbook
The latest lookbook for Beyond Closet by Korean designer Ko Tae Yong / 고태용 is a boyish, charming collection. Modeled by one of my favorite male models in Korea, it-boy Won Joong Kim / 김원중, the collection for spring/summer 2012 debuted today at Seoul Fashion Week. It contains shorts in various lengths, handsome check patterned jackets and shirts as well as a very enjoyable foliage pattern. Outside of Korea, Beyond Closet is stocked at Idiel showroom in New York.
Here's a video of the finale:)
