my last weekend in Seoul! like, ever.

MY LAST WEEK IN KOREA has been flying past with goodbyes & last minute errands & must-get-before-i-leave shopping trips & chasing down money & editing/blogging fashion week pics & posting way too many boxes to London, etc, etc. It's seriously been a whirlwind, but I guess no matter how much time you give yourself, you always end up rushing in the end.


But to celebrate my last weekend there are some pretty fun events going on. Tonight I'll be at Platoon Kunstehalle in Apgujeong to watch Salon Revolutionar with RufXXX. The Platoon crew is definitely on my goodbye list and what better match than having the RufXXX crew from my hood put on a lovely performance. Doors open at 7pm and no entrance after the performance starts at 8pm!


Now for Saturday a long lost love has returned to Hongdae - Mixtape. Since I'm going to be missing SHAKE! next weekend Mixtape will be serve as a more than suitable dirty dance party send off. Come join the fun & get messy with me at HodgePodge after 10pm.

Earthcircuit Exhibition /
Earthcircuit are a crew of four people and their dog traveling in two trucks. They are five different nationalities - British, Austrian, Czech, Portuguese and Indian - who were based in London and are now in the process of driving around the globe.

They left Europe in July and drove through Russia to South Korea, taking the ferry between Vladivostok and Sokcho. They are among the first to make this journey by truck, using the new Amur Highway built to link West with East.

They are now in Seoul seeking opportunities to stage an exhibition and publish a book before we ship to Canada and continue our journey. They will have an exhibit tonight at RufXXX from 5pm to 8pm.

Yesterday my roommate Andrea staged a photo shoot showcasing a collection of clothing she created to add to her fashion portfolio as she is currently applying for grad schools in Europe. Our friend Paula (www.noonablog.com) was kind enough to model and both myself and our other friend Courtney took photos. I'll post the link to Courtney's photography site once it's up and running.

Andrea chose the concrete backdrops around our apartment and the rooftop location at Ruf XXX for her outfits, which were inspired by middle eastern colors, fabrics & textures.

/ I opted for something warm and cozy today since I was going to be shooting outside for my roommates fashion portfolio (coming soon) up the hill at Ruf XXX near the Hyatt Hotel, which is also where I had my XXX birthday party back in September. I heart this place so much. The main floor is the bar with pingpong table, lots of cozy, patterned blankets and an outdoor fire pit. The second floor is a performance space and the rooftop has lots more seating with an amazing view of N Seoul Tower and the city.

I was so happy when I found my backpack at Gwangjang Market / 광장시장 in Jongno 5-Ga a few months ago as I had been searching all over Seoul for the perfect backpack with the right amount of pockets. Gwangjang Market is a great place to find anything vintage, but can be somewhat overwhelming due to the sheer amount of clothing and the cramped space. I got the Adidas sneakers as a gift after being one of the party models for Adidas's 60th Anniversary party last winter and I like how they contrast with the mustard yellow socks, which also match Donald's beak ;)  The hat was just a street find from Garosugil.

The Donald sweater was one of many amazing finds at my favorite place to shop in Seoul - Dongmyo Flea Market / 돟묘시장 on line 6. I go there weekly to scour through the piles of vintage clothes usually sold for only W1000 to W2000 each ($1~2 US). You can find great stuff for your house too. I bought the area rug, the candlesticks and every article of clothing in the picture below from Dongmyo.
