So long 2013!
2013 has been a pretty rad year actually. I had the chance to style my first cover story for 1883 Magazine and met actor Nicholas Hoult in the process. This was followed by three more covers including Michael Shannon for Fault and a double cover feature with model Matthew Bell and boy band Union J for Boys by Girls. I met and styled actress Sophie Turner from one of my favorite tv shows (Games of Thrones - can't wait for you to come back!). I was lucky enough to work with some amazingly talented photographers, stylists, models, editors, actors, hair stylists, makeup artists, etc on two different continents and I feel so grateful for al of these opportunities.
So in no particular order, here's a list of people I would like to thank for collaborating and inspiring me in 2013: Saty + Pratha, Cecilie Harris, John Mullan, Elliott Morgan, Holly Ounstead, Filippo Giuliani, Ginger Clark, Mark Shearwood, Alexandra Leese, Georgie Wileman, Arthur Woodcroft, Lol Keegan, Mark Cant, Alena Jascanka, Jake Rosenberg, Lorenzo Dalbosco and Alex Evans.

Matthew Bell for BBG: Video
I just came across a lovely video from the cover shoot I styled for Boys By Girls featuring Matthew Bell. I didn't realize Cecilie Harris, the photographer and Editor in Chief of BBG, was filming that day. I loved his slick, almost 20's flapper style hair in this story and it looks even more intense in video. The dark music gives the video of sinister twist and of course Matthew looks badass in looks from Christian Lacroix, Katie Eary and James Long. Missing all the amazing menswear brands that were at my fingertips in London right now!!!

Union J for Boys By Girls
If you're a fan of boy bands then I'm sure you've heard of Union J, one of the latest groups to come out of the X Factor UK. I styled them for the 2nd cover of the latest Boys By Girls magazine on the day before I moved away from London. Cecilie Harris photographed the group and also on board was John Mullan, one of my favorite hair stylists to work with in London. The boys are all a bit obsessed with their own hair, I don't think I've ever seen so much hair spray action in a room of mostly guys!
We didn't have much time with Union J so I only had a chance to do two looks. One was head to toe outfits by Christopher Shannon with his collaboration boots with Kickers. The second look featured on the cover of the issue was full on Topman with shoes by Kurt Geiger.
It was my kid sister's 13th birthday on the day of the shoot and the boys were even kind enough to sign a polaroid for her. Lucky girl!

When We Love / 55DSL
Another project I had a chance to work on in the 5th issue of Boys By Girls magazine was an advertorial for 55DSL, a spinoff of Diesel. Cecilie Harris was our photographer and creative force behind the story and booked us all a cabin in an adorable little trailer court out in the midlands of England for an afternoon. The olive green, denim blues and mustard yellows of the vintage trailers worked perfectly with the clothing selection - a great mix of denim, casual jumpers, printed t-shirts and button up shirts with a bit of camouflage and knitwear thrown in for fun. Special thanks to Timberland for lending the boots for the shoot! I'm so digging on these iconic boots, such a classic 90's throwback style!

Boys By Girls Issue 5 Double Covers
I'm so proud to share with you the twin covers for issue 5 of Boys By Girls magazine that I styled alongside Editor-in-Chief, photographer and my friend Cecilie Harris. Cecilie brought me in to act as Fashion Editor for this issue and I was so thrilled to be a part of it. Already having a great fan base, a very personal and approachable mood and a wealth of talented female photographers on board, Cecilie asked me to up the fashion content of the issue by bringing in a mixture of luxury brands like Vivienne Westwood MAN which the smouldering Matthew Bell wears on the cover (love that orange tartan!).
Issue 5 is also the first time that BBG featured any talent and were lucky enough to have the chance to work with X Factor boy band UNION J. I collaborated with Topman and Kurt Geiger shoes which were featured on the cover, as well as Christopher Shannon who outfitted some of the looks inside the issue. It's on sale now so get it while you can!

Young Men in the CIty for Vanity Teen Magazine
This is an editorial that I styled ages and ages ago for Vanity Teen magazine (if you like cute, topless but not too slutty boys in various boy poses follow their Tumblr HERE) with photographer Cecilie Harris, the editor in chief of Boys By Girls. It was not long after working with Cecilie on this story that she asked me to stand in as Fashion Editor for the 5th issue of Boys By Girls which will be coming out in September - so much goodness in that issue I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.
Anyways, back to 'Young Men in the City'...Cecilie and I definitely wanted to explore a more innocent version of 'boy' so we accentuated that mood by using only white clothing. It is Vanity Teen though, so of course there had to be a bit of skin. Our models Rich Morris and Timothy Kelleher were a pleasure to work with and Timothy pulls off white short-jorts like a champ.
A lot of looks didn't make the final cut (below) so I wanted to share these as well. I think my personal fave is Timothy in the cable knit jumper with the adorable 'hello' button. Too cute.

our journey to nowhere / i love fake
Our Journey To Nowhere / I LOVE FAKE issue 4
photography / Cecilie Harris
fashion / Chad Burton
models / Tommy @ M&P and Jasper @ Elite
Here is my latest menswear editorial for Dutch fashion mag I LOVE FAKE. Huge fan of that magazine (as well as of the Editor in Cheif Jolijn Snijders' photography) so I'm psyched that I have something featured in it.
I shot this with Cecilie Harris from Boys by Girls fame in a rundown little dive called the Oakley Hotel near Sloane Square - such a perfect atmosphere with the right amount of charm and tackiness. We wanted to tell a story of two dandy little friends who are too lazy to go camping in the actual wilderness, so they create a makeshift tent in a hotel and play around as boys do. I added a few outtakes that didn't make the cut at the end. I LOVE FAKE issue 4 on newstands now.

1883 Editor's Pick
I wanted to share one of my favorite images from issue 6 of 1883 which is my Editor's Pick, shot by the super talented and totally sweet Cecilie Harris. Orange was my inspiration for my first ever pick as Fashion Editor, and I chose to feature a striped eel skin and wool top from Lanvin for the boys and a very Grandma's curtain print pair of Dolce & Gabbana boots for the ladies, both from FW12. Below are a few other shots of models Sam from Next & Caitlin from Select which didn't make it into the magazine but which I love just as much.
ps. you can buy issue 6 of 1883 Magazine here.
