It's nice to see a few familiar faces at the menswear shows in Milan & Paris this season. NOMA HAN, no stranger to the runway in New York & Paris, walked in both the Lanvin (above) and the Alexis Mabille FW12 shows in Paris while HAN SU KIM was in Italy for the Missoni and Dirk Bikkembergs (one of the famed Antwerp Six) collections.  I modeled with both of the boys when I was living in South Korea so it's nice to see they are doing a good job of breaking into the western fashion scene.

BONia club night @ club answer

Korean designer Jung Jae Lee who is creative director for BON held a pre-fashion week party at Club Answer called BOrN to Casino. I was so sad to hear he wouldn't be showing during Seoul Fashion Week this season as he is one of my favorite designers and he was so kind as to use me as a main model in his last two collections. It was a nice chance to see him one last time before I leave Korea and to thank him for being so good to me. Check out his last two collections HERE and HERE. And also take a look at the adorable matryoshka aka Ukrainian staking dolls brooch he is wearing. Too cute!

/ There's nothing more perfect to wear on a sunny, crisp fall day than a classic trench coat. I picked this one up at Jamie & Bell vintage in Apgujeong just off Rodeo Street. It's a tiny little shop stocked full of amazing vintage from US & Europe and their jewelry and accessories are frequently used in editorials in all the biggest Korean fashion magazines from Vogue to Nylon to Bazaar. So you can imagine the prices. I don't usually splurge on clothes, actually I'm quite cheap. But this was so classic I knew I could have it for the rest of my life and cooly dropped the W300,000 for it. However soon after I bought it I had a bit of buyer's remorse - I wasn't wearing it often enough because it was a little too chunky and a little too long. To fix that, I took it to a local tailor (such cheap tailoring in Korea) to have it taken in slightly in the waist as well as to shorten the front panels, creating longer tails in the back. I loved the outcome - much more dramatic, yet still retaining it's classic appeal.





I bought the denim shirt with white buttons at the Gangnam Fashion Festival flea market held in October on Garosugil in Sinsa for only W10,000. It was made by W Dress Room, the sister brand of Choi Bumsuk's General Idea brand, and much better priced. My friend got the adorable loli-pop patterned scarf as a gift when he watched me walk in the "Playground" themed BON SS11 show by designer Lee Jung Jae at Seoul Collection.  /

/ Bright, candy-colored trench coats with wing-tipped shoes to match opened the 2nd BON show for designer Lee Jung Jae.  The shows theme was 'Playground' and I was lucky enough to model the vibrant red trench coat outfit.   Some of the opening jackets linings were a blue, red & pink lolipop pattern which was featured more in the middle portion of the show on jackets, vest, shorts & trousers.   In the shows concept the models traveled by 'Playground Air' to a playful desert safari and wore covered hats to keep out the wind and sand as well as utility belts and backpacks in tan, camel & khaki colors with hits of bright orange and navy.   I found the first half of the show to be stronger & more memorable than the second half and thought the relationship between the playground & desert themes was a bit distant, but overall it was a very pretty collection and I was honored to be a part of it for a second season. /
