Love ‘em or hate ‘em, quite a few menswear trends have emerged from the SS13 shows during London Collections: Men with neon, specifically hot pink, being one of them. From the bright jumpers and blazers at Topman Design (left) to the sporty stripe details at Sibling(centre) neon was making a resurgence from it’s early 90′s heydays. Edward and Benjamin, the boys behind Meadham Kirchoff (right), even went so far as to dip-dye their models hair to match their pattern heavy neon looks.

brown pony skin jacket / vintage denim shirt / Topman check blazer / W Dress Room crab necklace / Burger & Fries sunglasses / street stall black denim / Cheap Monday brown brogues / Prada Burger and I took advantage of the +16 degree weather today by heading over to the Sunday Up Market off Brick Lane to do a bit of browsing. Not only did I find a rad pair of sunglasses for only £8.00 that were very reminiscent of theCutler and Gross pair I borrowed for fashion week, but Burger also found this super lux vintage brown pony skin jacket. And it was only £10.00!!! 앗싸! Fur can be tough for a guy to pull off, but pony skin is another matter entirely. There's something rich and luxurious about it while retaining a strictly masculine edge all without coming across as too glam. I've actually been noticing pony skin all over the runways during mens FW12 fashion weeks this season, mostly in a deep black hue. In London, Baartmans and Siegel (left) as well as Topman Design (right) presented a bold pony skin jacket. I especially love the biker jacket by Topman. Elsewhere, Diesel Black Gold (left) presented handsome double breasted pony skin jackets in navy, while Emporio Armani outfitted a few of their models in wrap cardigan-like pony skin jackets. If you can't wait until next winter to get in on the FW12 trends, I've found a few FW11 pieces that I would be very happy to have in my closet. Sadly the Mugler Pony Skin Buckled Creepers on the left are sold out at London select shop LN-CC, but they also this Haerfest Calfskin and Fur Backpack which would be great for carrying my laptop to and from work every day. At Oki-ni they also have a few pony skin shoes. On the left are a pair of cherry red Dr Martens Hair on Horsey 3 Eye Derby Shoes next to a more casual pair of Diet Butcher Slim Skin High Top Sneakers.
cream jacket & shorts / T.Lipop white shirt / Ryul + Wai white long underwear / H&M black clutch / vintage bolo tie / vintage black boots / Aldo sunglasses / Cutler and Gross This was the outfit I wore to Menswear day at London Fashion Week, which happened to be the last day of the week. BLOW PR was kind enough to lend some T.Lipop samples so huge thanks to them. I knew that this cream jacket and shorts combo was going to be a winner so I saved it for the final day of the week. I paired it with a crisp white shirt and wore the shorts over some basic and very comfortable long underwear from H&M. I actually ran into Tom from T.Lipop backstage later in the day and his entire team was so psyched to see me rocking his jacket.
Above is my coverage of Menswear day for 1883 Magazine - the final of a 6 part series. It took us a while to get going properly on this project and we had a few young filmmakers back out due to scheduling conflict, however in the end we got some decent footage. In this video I talked about the MAN show featuring Shaun Samson, Agi & Sam and Astrid Anderson as well as the Topman Design show, all of which were at the Royal Opera House. To accessorize this look I went for a vintage bolo tie that I thrifted in Canada which features a gold cowboy's saddle in a silver setting. I also wore one of the pairs of sunglasses that were lent to me by Cutler and Gross for filming - I love them so much I don't want to give them back!
