LCF Celebrates 150 Years of the Tuxedo
Yesterday the London College of Fashion celebrated 150 years of the tuxedo at Quintessentially in central London by reinventing the little black jacket for the 21st Century. Eight acting students from Central Saint Martins were selected through casting to have made-to-measure tuxedos created especially for them by eight bespoke tailoring students from LCF. They will be on display in the menswear department at Harrods from September 8th to 22nd then travel to Tuxedo Park in New York for a public exhibition. Here are a few of the tuxes shot by Quincy Scott.
Here is the winning tuxedo, designed by Maria Thelin and worn by Lorna Nickson-Brown. I believe Maria now gets a much lauded internship at the internationally renowned Henry Poole & Co of Savile Row. Check out a few of the handsome guests at the reception last night.
