the centaur fw 2011/12 by ye ranji
The Centaur by Korean designer Ye Ranji presented a very vintage inspired, very polar collection this season - you either loved it or you hated it. Print, pattern & texture were everywhere from the bold, black & white animal print silk dresses to floral tops & ruffled skirts cut from your grandma's sofa & curtains. The boxy double breasted jacket-becomes-dress mashup could have been taken straight out of your fathers old suit closet. The models all rocked long, thick Pocahontas braids & teardrop pearl cluster earrings but didn't show much skin until the finale, other than the few cropped sweaters or jackets scattered throughout the collection. A few huge misses like the muppet-like shag carpet dresses & cardigans or the camouflage vs. leaf patterned flowing skirt were totally unwearable, but the remainder, if styled correctly, could be a fun perk up to your bland wardrobe blues.
