caruso fw 2011/12 by kwang hyo chang

caruso
Caruso designer Kwang Hyo Chang used a Korean Buddhist monk from the Silla kingdom named Hyecho as inspiration for his FW 2011/12 collection. Hyecho is famous for writing a memoir about his pilgrimage to the five kingdoms of India.  I could see a bit of Indian inspiration in the fold over pants or the patterned, midnight blue half cape, half suit jacket that was the finale outfit, but what stood out more were the heels. Yes, men in heels.  Tasseled ones at that with golden ski boot-like buckles in all sizes from ankle boots to thigh highs.  The colors were tonal beiges, greys & cloudy blues - desaturated versions of the bright colors you would expect to find in India.  For the most part this collection left me confused, but I'll let you be the judge.
