1883 Magazine Issue 4
Issue 5 of 1883 Magazine with Santigold on two covers was finally released in stores yesterday so I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite pages. I love the graphic elements and mashup of patterns and textures on the left cover which features heavy gold body jewelry by Erickson Beamon, but I love the 'POW!' (literally) of the cover on the right where Santi wears a jacket by JC de Castelbajac and a headpiece by Riita Hakkarainen for Dans La Vie.
This was the first print feature I styled for 1883 which I shot with MARK CANT of singer Willy Moon, a 50's like crooner with some very badass dance moves. For this shot I had him in a check jacket by Versace, shirt by Z Zegna, skull print scarf by Alexander McQueen and a fresh button hole flower that I picked up at the market on the morning of the shoot.
I'm totally biased about this image of singer/actress Josephine de la Baume as it was shot in my bedroom. Styled by 1883's Fashion Co-ordinator LINDSAY ROBERTSON and photographed by KIRILL KULETSKI, her red soled Louboutin's and Jason Wu dress look perfect against the pattern heavy bedspread and Marimekko tapestry.
Another fun spread is this army man still life shoot by 1883's Beauty Editor and Senior Fashion Assistant HOLLY OUNSTEAD. It reminds me a little of Toy Story and a little of that 80's flick Honey I Shrunk the Kids!
The Santigold covers and feature editorial were styled by my Fashion Editor FILIPPO GIULIANIand photographed by MAGNUS UNNAR in the Aloft London Excel hotel. She was really charming in person and looks so cool in this foil & frills jumpsuit by Inbar Spector.
This is my editorial 'Six Boys One Skull' which I shot with CHARL MARAIS. I'm so psyched to see an editorial of mine in print and love that I got a chance to work with amazing brands like Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Issey Miyake, Alexander McQueen, etc, etc!
The opening image for Holly's women's editorial shot by ALEXANDER JORDAN which I got to assist on might just be my favorite page of the magazine - I think it's such a iconic shot and stands out against the rest of the content in the magazine. Plus those mirrored octagon shaped glasses are Burger's :)
Another iconic spread that I got to assist on is the opening shot of Lindsay's editorial which was photographed at Supperclub London by NORMAN LEE. The knit sweater by LCF graduate Joseph Turvey is perfect with the spilt juice and I am kind of obsessed with the black & white loafers with sneaker-like soles by J.W. Anderson.
